General Information
Peru:
It is the third biggest country in South America, a magical and millenary country that offers lots of diversity and richness that are not common in the world. Peru offers to the visitors, many possibilities and opportunities of living a unique experience.
The Andes Mountains cross its territory from the south to the north, giving a rich variety of climates and ecosystems. Peru is one of the seven countries with most diversity in the planet (it is located in the third position), you can find 84 of the 107 ecosystems that exist in the planet. This country is a home for more than 400 species of mammals, 300 reptiles,1700 birds and more than 50,000 plants.
It has a population of 25,662,000 people, the official language is the Spanish and his currency is the Nuevo Sol (S/.)

Cusco:
It is located in the south east of the country, it has different regions like the jungle, andean valleys and mountains, it borders on Arequipa (south), Puno (south east), Madre de Dios (north east), Ucayali (north), Ayacucho(north west) and Apurimac (west). It has an area of 76,329 square kilometers, and the capital city is Cusco located at 3,350 meters above sea level
Arequipa:
Located at the lower slope of the occident of Andes mountains at the bottom of Misti volcano (2,350 meters above sea level), it is the capital of the department that has the same name, a beautiful city with houses made in Sillar a material of volcanic stones, with temples and convents define with an original architectonical style and with magic countrysides around.
Puno:
On the edge of Lake Titicaca and at 3,860 meters above sea level you can find Puno ,that is a city that will captivate you because the magnetism that comes from its mountains, from its lake that look like the sea and from the people whom come from the Aymaras culture that was developed in the altitudes.
Nazca:
In the plain of San José and the mountains of the valley Río Grande, the ancient Peruvians drew a enormous red of fine lines and drawings of plants and animals (different birds, a monkey, a spider, a fish, and much more) that covers and area of 500 square kilometers. Because these singular characteristics, the drawings of Nazca are one of the biggest mysteries of the archeological world. Some researchers like Doctor Marie Reiche, whom for more than 50 years studied the area, consider that Nazca is the biggest astronomical observatory in the world; others, like Johan Reinhard, the principal researcher of the Santuaries in the altitudes of the Peruvian Andes, thinks that Nazca lines where sacred paths in the water and earth worships. Recents theories say that Nazca lines are related with underground waters.
Puerto Maldonado:
At the department of Madre de Dios (the capital is the city of Tambopata - Puerto Maldonado) you can find three important reserves: the Reserve of Biosphere of Manu (declared by Unesco a Natural World Heritage in 1987), the Reserve of Tambopata-Candamo (with untouched populations of many species in extinction, like the giant otter and the harpía eagle) and the National Park Bahuaja-Sonene (that has a population of 450 species of birds).
