Itinerary

Day 1: Cusco – km .82- Huayllamba.- (AM)

Transfer to Km. 82 to start trekking the Inca Trail towards Machu Picchu. After three hours of walk, stop to have lunch. Later we will continue walking to the first camp in Wayllabamba, on the way we will visit the archaeological site of Llactapata. Dinner and overnight in the camp.

Day 2: Wayllamaba - Warmiwañusca – Pacasmayo

Breakfast. We will start the most interesting part of the Inca Trail, with a climb up the mountain, followed by a 3-hour walk until we reach the first pass called Warmiwañusca (dead woman),at 4,200 meters above sea level. You will enjoy the beautiful panoramic sights from all the area. You will also have the satisfaction of reaching the highest altitude of the trekking. Then we will go down towards Pacasmayo to camp and have dinner.

Day 3: Pacaymayo – Phuyu patamarca – Wiñayhuayna

Breakfast. We will start to go down towards the second most important pass within the trekking, at 3,800 meters above sea level where you will enjoy a guided tour inside the archaeological site of Runku Rakay and the Inca citadel of Sayacmarca .Then we will continue walking toward Phuyu Patamarka (town in the clouds), an also important archaeological monument where we will stop to have lunch. After a short break we will continue the walking until we get to Wiñayhuayna (always young). Guided tour inside this impressively located archaeological site. Dinner and overnight in the camp.

Day 4: Wiñayhuayna – Machu Picchu – Cusco

Breakfast. Walk for an hour through the forest towards the Intipunku  (sun gate). stunning panoramic view of the citadel of Machu Picchu. Guided tour inside the citadel, visiting the main buildings and monuments such as the main plaza, temple of the three windows, sun dial, mortar room, temple of the Condor and the cemetery, etc. Transfer by bus to Aguas Calientes. In the afternoon, return to Cusco city. Transfer to the hotel.
