Itinerary

Day 1: Cuzco - San Pedro de Cachora

Leave the hotel at 6:00 a.m. towards the town of Cachora, where we will start to go down to the district of Limatambo and will visit the archaeological site of Taraguasi. Next we will continue our journey aling the river before we cross the Cunyac bridge, which goes over the Apurimac river. Following the left side of the river, we will start to go up and will observe the valley of the great canyon of Apurimac, one of the deepest in the world. We will also observe the Salkantay snow peak (located at 6,264 meters above sea level). Later we will arrive to the district of Curahuasi, an impressive valley and producer of anise in Peru. We will continue going up until we get to Saywite, where we will visit the archaeological Inca site observing a stone model and other things (lunch). Arrival to Cachora, dinner and camping.

Day 2: San Pedro de Cachora – Santa Rosa

Breakfast. We leave Cachora towards Santa Rosa. We will have a wonderful view to a waterfall. Then we will arrive to Chiquisqa, (lunch). At dusk we will arrive to Uchuyhuerta, in Santa rosa, dinner and onvernight.

Day 3: Santa Rosa – Choquequirao

Early breakfast, then we start to walk towards Choquequirao where we will observe beautiful landscapes from the jungle mountains, with a diversity of local flora and fauna. We will arrive to the archaeological site at noon to set our camping. Later we will have lunch and will visit THE ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITE OF CHOQUEQUIRAO.

Day 4: Choquequirao – Playa Rosalina

After breakfast we will have a free morning to visit the archaeological site. Later we will have lunch and will return to Santa Rosa, where we will have dinner and stay overnight at Playa Rosalina.

Day 5: Playa Rosalina - San Pedro De Cachora – Cuzco

Breakfast, return to the town of Cachora, then we go up to the Huayhuacalle pass (lunch). Later we will walk and arrive to Cachora and Curahuasi town. We will then return to CUZCO city.
