Through The Ecuadorian Andes 09 Days / 08 Nights
1st Day / Quito
Reception at Quito airport and transfer to the hotel.
2nd Day / Quito - Papallacta
In the morning visit to the colonial and modern Quito. In the afternoon we will go to the north east to Papallacta, enjoy the spring waters that have been born in the Andes also the beautiful landscapes.
3rd Day / Papallacta - Otavalo
We will travel to the north to Imbabura to explore the Indian market of Otavalo, where you will find ponchos, colorful tapestries, Indian jewelry, hand made baskets and much more things that this market offer. In the afternoon we will visit the artisanal center of San Antonio de Ibarra or Cotacachi.
4th Day / Otavalo - Cotopaxi
In the morning explore the province of the lakes (Imbabura), in the afternoon departure to the south through the Volcanos Avenue for spend the night near to National Cotopaxi Park.
5th Day / Cotopaxi
A day at the National park with opportunities to climb to the Refugio at 4800 meters of altitude above sea level, or you can explore and learn about the Andean cold regions. In the afternoon return to Latacunga.
6th Day / Cotopaxi - Riobamba
We will continue the trip through the Andes to Riobamba, located in the core of the country, where we will visit the Madres Conceptas museum also the Guano artisanal centre and maybe we’ll finish the day with a visit to the spectacular Chimborazo.
7th Day / Riobamba - Cuenca
We will travel to Gapirca, the Inca’s most important ruins in Ecuador. In the way we can visit a typical south Indian market (Guamote just the Thursdays) or to board the train and goes through Nariz del Diablo.
8th Day / Cuenca
We will explore Cuenca and his narrow streets and houses with beautiful balconies; visits to the most representatives museums and convents of art and culture are included. Cuenca is the most important artisanal center of Ecuador, where you can find, embroideries, gold and silver jewelry, ceramics and the famous Panama hat.
9th Day / Cuenca - Quito or Guayaquil
Transfer to the airport to take the plane to Guayaquil or Quito.
*Extensions for tours to Galapagos islands of 3, 4 y 7 nights, or tours to the tropical wet woods to the south to the country, to Loja, to the valley of the Vilcabamba are offer”.
